Animation in maya

Hello All,
I would like to know has anyone made there own rig in maya 2008 with IK helpers with no problems?

Because this stuff of just moving bones around really sucks.

If i create my own rig in maya and name all the bones the same and add IK and FK handles will everything work? what iam saying is will the exporter error out if i add IK handles to the rig to help with animations?

P.S. i have the bvh exporter working and importer.

This really didn't answer my questions about IK handles on Bone rigs in maya.
I see how this one is made and i got it to work. Just wanted to make my own custom one.
