Simple Pose

OK, I guess this is a really noobish question. ^^ I've downloaded the qavimator and watched the Linden tutorial and have been playing around with it myself a bit.
But: Where can I make simple poses? Like for group pictures with friends that do not move? Do I have to use a seperate program for that or can I use the Qavimator?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

You have to have one pose per person. The sumplest thing to do is to make a pose ball for each person with your pose in it and make multiple copies,

Once you have made a pose in QAvimator, you need to upload it to SL. After it is uploaded, place it into a pose ball with a poseball script. These are freely available all over the grid.

Once you get the pose to look the way you like, take it into inventory. Now drag multiple copies out and rez them on the ground and adjust their heights and placement. You will need one pose per person. Now people cam sit on your poseballs and have their picture taken.

Of course, for good photos, you will want each person to be posed differently, which means making more than one pose, and more than one poseball.

Did I mention that you need to name everything so you can recognize it later?

Good luck, and don't be shy about asking questions. Many of us love helping out new people.

Hehe, thanks :D I know how to make poseballs. Maybe I've formulated my question a bit weird. How do I make a static pose with the qavimator instead of an animation?

Just move the limbs on frame 2, and make "Frame 2 of 30" to read "Frame 2 of 2".

Make sure to move all limbs by at least 1 or that limb will still move. When uploading, use Priority 4 and "Loop".

I'd reccommend looking at Torley Linden's tutorial for using QAvimator.

You only need 2 frames for a pose - frame 1 must be the default T-pose and frame 2 should be the pose you want. When you upload the animation to SL, frame 1 does not show - it is just used as a reference frame. Select the option to loop the animation - it will then play your frame 2 pose over and over until you stop the animation - so it looks like a fixed pose.

Yeah, I looked at that tutorial, but Torley only explained the animation thing.
Setting it to 2 frames didn't work either, but I've been playing around with it a bit and setting it to 3 frames worked. I only had to change the end-%-thingy down to 50 when i uploaded it and it worked.
And yeah, I noticed the move all limbs thing when I uploaded my first pose, lol.

But now I am standing for another problem. I am not sure if it is a pose problem or a building problem, but I made hammocks with sleeping poses in the hammocks (not in poseballs) in the hull of a ship. But when I want to stand up, I land standing on the hammock with my head sticking through the ceiling. When I then move down from the hammock I fall through the floor of the ship and cannot land on it any more until I sit on another poseball.
Maybe it is just an sl glitch. I will try to make the distance between hammock and ceiling higher and will see if that fixes the problem.

**Edit: Problem solved. Moving the hammocks helped.

If you make the hammock phantom, you will not jump off that high when you stand up.

Yeah, but if i would do that the rest of the build will go phantom, too. So lowering the hammocks was the better solution ^^

OK, I'm just guessing here, but can you create the animation with an offset that corresponds to the area outside the hammock? You would then have to redefine your SitTarget for the hammock.
