I'm trying to make a simple sitting pose uning Poser 5. From what I've read I'm gathering (I could be wrong) that you need to leave frame 1 in the default stance. So I set 1 as the keyfream and switch it to 2 or higher arrange my body and set another keyframe. When I make the bvh file and upload to try, it shows my avi standing up and sitting down over and over. How the heck do I eliminate it going back to the default stance and back to sitting over and over. Please forgive if this is a stupid question. I'm very new at this pose/animation making stuff.

I think I know what your problem is When doing a static pose you want to set your keyframes on the 2nd frame and no later in the timeline. If there's a gap between the default start frame and your keyframes, poser will create tweens. That causes problems with static poses because when it starts over at the beginning the animation hasn't reached your pose yet. Instead you're still in transition from the default pose to your created pose. If there's no gap between the start frame and your keyframes then when it starts over your avatar is already fully in the final pose. Hope that makes sense.

OK that worked for making a still pose and I thank you Now the problem I'm getting when I try to animate the pose is this. I'm trying to make one of the feet move up and down like a woman sitting with legs crossed moving her foot. I've added frames up to 30. I did key frames at 2 15 and 30 with the foot in a different postion along the way. When I play it in Poser and upload it shows the avi standing up and sitting into my pose over and over. If I set the first frame to anything but the default stance the file won't even upload to SL. How do I eliminate that first default stance from showing in my animation? Also in Poser is there a quick way to copy all body positions at once and past to the next frame or several down the line? Like say at fream 10 I'm in such and such a position and at frame 20 I want to be back in that exact position. It's a pain going back and forth and putting the #'s in each thing to match. I've tried copy and paste but that dosn't seem to do anything to my figure.

I think you can do that by changing the start percentage value in the upload preview

When you want to reuse it at a particular frame, move the time slider to that frame and then click the pose dot.

OK one other question. When I'm playing my animation in Poser how do I make it not play the first frame of the standard SL stance. I've put it on frame 1 and clicked the "Skip Frame" button, but it always plays that when I click play.

That one I don't have an answer for. I'm not much of a Poser expert. Maybe someone else knows

Click on the little button with the key on it.. it opens a window wher eyou can set the frame rate etc... If you look at the bottom of this window there is a green line that says Play Range.. Slide the green arrow on the left side over 1 frame.
