I came to this forum hoping to find a beginners tutorial for making animations for SL with Poser yet I only found a dead link. Does anyone have any other working links to other animation tutorials for SL using Poser? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just wrote a basic tutorial as part of an SL help guide Ansel Gasparini is putting together. It's not so much about animating as it is about using your animations with SL. Contact him to ask if you can see the tutorial I wrote; I'm not sure if it would be okay for me to post it.

The old Ulrika tutorial is still available in the Google cache system http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:e_lfPhT7g5cJ:www.ulrikasheim.org/animation/tutorial-basic.html+%22second+life%22+poser+animation&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=opera
. It's a brief set of instructions, not some sort of fancy interactive multimedia tutorial experience, in case that's what people think it is.

The Second Life knowledgebase has a section on making animations using Poser at http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=050

In case that link goes dead too (when the google cache expires), here's the wayback machine's copy for future searchers ;) : http://web.archive.org/web/20050204033032/www.ulrikasheim.org/animation/tutorial-basic.html

It amazes me that the forum moderators allow you to constantly troll these forums.

I am working on a book to be out soon. It focuses on exactly this kind of question across most of SL beginning topics such as building, clothing, moving around, vehicles, textures, scripting, particles, etc. My publisher would look unfavorably on posting this, but I am happy to share it with a few individuals who are serious about trying it out and providing feedback on how it could be improved. I'm specifically interested in people who know Poser, but have limited exposure to SL. The tutorial Johan wrote is about building a sit animation and incorporating it into a pose ball. Contact me in-world if you are interested.
