I am wondering, is there a way for me to create an animation that can allow me to do my dance moves while my feet are on the ceiling? And my feet not digging into the ceiling (many other ceiling walking animations that exist in SL, your feet do dig into the ceiling).
My avatar does go to a disco on a regular basis, and I am hoping to impress others with my new found ability.
If anybody is able to assist me in creating the script for a ceiling dancing animation, then that would be great!
Also, is there a way for my flexi skirts and hair to stay straight while on the ceiling?

The ceiling dance you can do with poseballs...on your own land, or anywhere you are allowed to rez them.
Flex skirt and hair? Nope. Wear non-flex items to your zero-gravity dance parties. If the items have copy/mod permissions, you could make a copy and make the prims in the copy non-flexi...then wear the stiff versions when you jump up on the roof.

So, do poseballs cost any lindens (if anything at all)? Or is it possible I could get free poseballs somewhere in SL?
I'd like to get certain dance moves for strutting on the ceiling - like Boogie, or Don't Stare, or Disco Fever, to name a few.

Rez a sphere. Go here for a pose ball script. /15/a0/183792/1.htmlDrop the script into the sphere. Drop the dance animation into the sphere.

if the item is mod you can change the grabity flexy settings and this would deffinatly work, of course unless they were scripted to change back when you were right side up your skirt bottom would be hanging up around your head, alowing everyone to see your underwears! if there mod and copy (like all good items should be) you could have one pair for upside down dancing and another for normal dancing and just swap them from your invintory screen -Crunch

If you actually make the dance yourself with a program you can flip your avatar arround and make it indeed upside down (i did it with my walking on hands animation) but to get it up in the sky, you need to move your avatar up also in the program you using (can be QVAvimator or Poser) The only problem remains is that many roofs have many different heights, so indeed, what people suggested is the poseball solution And to awnser that last question, flexi prims are based on SL's gravity.. you can play with the settings, but to it will probably never be completely straight next to the body. Make sure you have mod rights on it, else you can forget about it. Or how about you flip your house arround, dancing on the ceiling with all of you, and your living room is upside down

Hey, Pyrite. I heard you wanted to dance on the ceiling the way you expect to do it.
Well, have I got news for you! I was sent an IM by someone I made contact with this past Thursday, and he referred me to an upside down dancing club on his homeland yesterday evening. I tried it out, and it is phenomenal! I strongly recommend you try out this dance club. I'll send you a landmark later today. And I just bet there are other upside down clubs out there in SL.
And a word of caution: If you're considering wearing a skirt, wear a normal one and not a flexi.

Thanks, Danielle, for letting me know about this club. I went there, and it is way cool! It really is one of a kind in SL.
BTW, for those who would like to consider trying out this club, here is the link:

I guess that's why it pays to take advantage of freebies in SL. Rotating the flexi skirt and the flexi hair will still leave them subject to gravity. It's gravity (oddly enough) that makes them fall. Many items are for sale with modify & copy permissions. You don't have to stick to freebies, just to things you can see the next-owner permissions for before you buy them.

I did purchase a new dress last week (it cost 400L), and I do have one question - would I have to go to Edit to change the gravity on my flexi skirt so that it would stay straight when doing my moves on the ceiling? What path would I have to take?

Like, to make my flexi skirt stay straight while walking, dancing, or doing anything on the ceiling, would I have to set my gravity settings to zero?

The one-of-a-kind dance club that allows you to dance on the ceiling is no more - at least for now. The owner of the sim had to give it up due to the recession. Hopefully the current owner of the Lionel Richie-style dance club will reopen on another sim.
