I'd like to over-ride some of the built-in animations in SL.
For example, when building/editing, your arm sticks up. I'd like to turn this off. I saw someone who was editing and they weren't doing this lame gesture.
Also, I saw some animation 'players', something called a ZHAO. Would this do it? Or does it just play dance animations. How does it work. How do you load it?
Also, whats the difference between a gesture and an animation.
Thanks for any help

You use an AO (animation override) for what you want. There are free AO devices (ZHAO is one) for controlling what animation plays when. You still need the actual animations to put in the device. There are lots of free ones available, or you can purchase them, either separately to put in your AO or as a set already built-into an AO.
An animation is a clip of movement that affects your avatar. "Gestures" in SL are a specific technical feature where you have a macro of animation, sound, and/or text that plays when you type a certain command.
