Bought Poser 5, best way to proceed?

I bought Poser 5. I see that Poser can do a lot of things, but am i correct in understanding that in SL the only thing it is useful for is to create an animation?

Also, what is the best way to proceed to learn how to develop an animation for SL in Poser?

Well, technically an image rendered from Poser can be uploaded to SL just like any other image, to use Poser for creating flat art. But certainly the main use for Poser with SL is creating avatar animations.

Poser can also be used to test clothes, tattoos and skins. You can try clothes made in photoshop (or other paint software) on your poser figure and save the extra steps and expense of uploading your clothing texture to sl for some of the tweaking. The previewer is an AWESOME tool.
Get the dialogs for folder selction tweaked out to some standard and it will truly be a work of art
