Technical Assistance for P4?

yeah ok, poser 4 is outdated... but it's what I've got...

here's the scenario
p4 is on the old comp, it's about dead and can't run safely for more than ~30mins

disk material is buried in a box somewhere on the other side of the continent...

I transfered the file folders, checked the registry for important keys (non found really, just file type references so no big deal)... and it boots up fine... but when I look at the view window, it has a nice bacround color tacked to the uper left hand corner, and figures I add to the view dount show (although their outlines show when I hover over the parts....

any cure for this?

works fine on the old machine, but as I said, heating issues... main differences between the macihines are more memory, multicore processor, and a MUCH better vid card on the new one... is this just a compatibility issue and am I screwed?

I think if you Grep'd the Anna-canna-pannazan, and imported the HKEYs from the rooty-pooty, that you could get the P4 to work with a slap'em jack'em upload from the 5th dimension.

funny... problem solved by win98 compatibility mode... which tells me it either doesn't like multi cores, or doesn't like the large memory... although I thought I applied that patch, but we'll try that when I feel like fighting the load time for the old machine =/

don't envy the knowledge, just the amount of money it cost to get it (seriously, I wish I had spent money on better things than some of those college classes... a large part of it could have been learned on the net and clep'd, le sigh)
