Good morning, everyone I took a break this weekend from SL and making Animations well making things in general, However, While in my hiatus I though you know if those of us that have poser could obtain the orginal stock .bvh files for the animations within SL then we could Modify adapt and even fluidly control our Inworld avatars much better.
Recently I read threads that everyone is looking for the Poser 2 male/ female ect.
Please LL correct me if I am wrong in this assumption. But a year ago when SL was still in beta We begged for clothing we begged for a lot of things and the return was the Av's we have are "NOT" poser avatars at all however the .bvh since it is a universal file in animation can be correlated to the SL avatars.
Meaning as I explained in a previous thread about .bvh files that the basic structure of the avatars "Bones" relate to the exported output of the poser model meshes.
What does this mean, I know scripters cry HAVOK 2 however as an animator / static pose maker I am now crying out HAVOK 2 as well so that the in world Avatars can be upgrade to handle all the mathematics required to fully animate Faces hands ect.
At this point when you make an animation in Poser it is uploaded as a .bvh file so that the .bvh converter can read and translate the .bvh animation into Second Life.
But because it does this it doesnt mean the poser charatures are the ones that relate to the Avatars in SL.
I haver read some others are using Blender I have known others to use Cinpak and a few other animation programs. The thing is with the correct "Bone" structure those animation programs can animate an avatar as well via a .bvh file.
The Key here, is the .bvh conversion. The Second Life Avatar is a cross bred avatar uniquely different than that of poser or blender avatars. The mechanics of it are unique as the way it was built and put together.
If the SL Avatar was a POSER avatar then importing .pz2 files with Conforming Mesh clothing wouldnt be an issue. That would open up a whole new realm of possibilities.
And maybe someday this will be able to be achieved. But currently with streaming graphics in an online world that kind of data gets to be huge and if some think you have lag now wait till something of that nature were implimented.
So, once again, in closing I Cry, "HAVOK 2" and or ...let us get copies of the standard base .bvh files so that we may tweak and adjust as we would like.
Thank you for your time in reading this.
Sincerely, Shadow Weaver
