Hello there,
Forgive me if I am posting this thread at wrong place but it seems some boots creators put animation above the design itself. I bought my first boot - not much expensive - in my first week on SL. Vendor say have sexy walk. I found sooner I expected that this animation (or script, dont know) dont works with pad dance and either where scripts are disabled.
Today I found a very nice boot - believe me, they are hard to find, I mean well done ones - and it was a hell! I bought a demo and tried hardly to turn off animation and script because everythi8ng frozed on SL and I had to restart it. When I come back, I tried turn off the demo I was still wearing when crashed and then I found that turning off script I have one part of the boot detached. I would like notify boot owner ans ask him to take out all these scripts/animations but dont have a clue who is the creator: dont have his/her name on vendor or even on some notecard.
SO, PLEASE, BOOTS CREATORS: I am asking why add those scripts on boots if we, the customers, cannot use them?
Anyone interested to see the boot I am talking about and try demo for 1L: Rhein Main, 79,60,25
And please, if someone knows the creator I would like have the boots WHITOUT COSMETICS THINGS AS SOUNDS OR ANIMATIONS/SCRIPTS.
Thank you very much. Beth aka Aniela Szondi

This is something I've been saying for some time. Most people use their own AO, having these walks and scripts in shoes is simply a waste of effort. It may be fine if you either allow their removal or provide a way to turn them off, as some better makers do. But many don't. I sell an AO with special features, and every time someone IMs me saying my AO doesn't work, I tell them to take off their shoes. Sure enough, there's an AO in the shoe conflicting with my AO. So I'm educating SL one person at a time to just say no to Shoe walks.

It has been my--perhaps confused--experience, that you can delete the animations and the script that drives them from your boots. Even if they are no-mod. The deletions are gone, though: an irreversible change. So be sure that you want it gone. You may be able to drag them into your inventory, even, thus saving the script and anim, but you can't put them back into the boots/shoes.
Footware creators please note...

The footware I have bought that included a walk animation and script have all been supplied with two right shoes/boots - one with the scripted animation and one without, so providing a choice of whether to use the animated version or not.

Hello everybody

It seems the problem is a SL bug related: Release Keys butoon. I contacted the boot creator asking her to take out the script because I was experiencing problems. The problem is on Release Keys: all times I happened to wear boots with sexy walk script I got this button coming on my screen and then, of course, all times I hit it. So, foot part scripted detaches. What the boot creator told me is to don“t hit this release keys button. I did it and, after restarted SL, this button is gone and I have a sexy walk. Forgive me boots creators. The problem is on SL. warm regards, Beth aka Aniela Szondi

Most of the ones I have bought do that also. It's a nice alternative and I patronize those merchants more frequently than ones who 'force' me to use their sexy walk. I spent days perfecting my AO and love the walk I picked.
That used to be true, but at some point LL changed things, and you can no longer remove the contents of no mod items. so it's a pain in many respects, not just for shoes.
