I know were getting a little ahead of the curve, but i was talking to a very nice man today from a company called Measurand, and they have a product called Shape Wrap II which is a full body wireless realtime Motion Capture device. Now it outputs files in either BVH or 3CD in realtime and even with no cleanup the data looks great!!! The price is well ....best left to the imagination but is probably less then 30,000 US, kinda high, but much cheaper than vicon
....Like I say getting ahead of the curve with realtime, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.
There are also some big advancements in MEMS accelerometers that can also go wireless and sense X,Y,Z, shock, freefall, relative position, direction, velocity, etc. very low power consumption, 1.5 cm by 1.5 cm and get this cost about $10.00 US. each.
I realize this is not a system yet, but it sure has my attention for a low cost Mo-Cap system.
