Lately I've seen a few performers with quite well done singing animations - obviously scripted with built-in facial expressions. Anyone know who makes these? Or even better, has (or knows where to find) a sample script to show me how it's done? Thanks!

Try Web Page - I think he has had experience of this.

Okay, I did that ... his reply was that he's selling an attachment that does what I want for 5000L$. Any other ideas?

For that price I'm guessing you asked for full-perms. Or perhaps he just assumed you are asking for full-perms; are you? If not, I'm sure he would sell it much cheaper. Or you could go to my store and buy the microphone, which has singing animation built-in.

Actually, it's not full perm ... if it was, I wouldn't hesitate paying that much to learn how it is done. But thanks for the microphone hint ... I'll do that. Even being able to take a close look at it will help.

Sounds like a business opportunity to me then - I'm sure it won't be long before someone undercuts that!

My guess is that such a script uses the SL gestures that open and close the mouth (such as laugh, smile, scream?) and runs them as timer events maybe, in a sequence to simulate speech? Not a scripter myself (out of choice rather than lack of skill set) - have you tried the scripting forum?
