Pec attachment points - can they be animated?

I'm in the process of making a full prim demon sort of avatar, with a simple "one-meter-off-the-floor" AO, the walk and stand work perfectly (although the stand hip offset height is half again that of the walk one...no idea why).

I'd like to have flapping wings, but syncing prims is tricky and unreliable so I decided on a flying animation. I know I could use the shoulders as attachment oints, but this would mean the arms would also move, which isn't the effect I'd like.

So...the pec attachment points are normally useless for anything visible, can I turn this to my advantage and use them for wings? I'd assume the 'collar' points in poser correlated with 'pec' in SL but they appear to be the SL 'shoulder'...

Has anyone tried this before, and if so, could they tell me how feasible it is?

Many thanks in advance!

Moving the collar bones will move the arms which is what you don't want.
The collar bone's connected to the...SHOULDer bone, the shoulder bone's connected to the FORE-arm.:)

Oh..well...it was a faint twinkle of hope while it lasted. Thankyou for your reply :D

It was the 'shoulder-upper arm' and 'collarbone-shoulder' discrepancy which put me off. Since that isn't possible, does anyone know what the 'pec' is weighted to?

It doesn't follow spine, chest or shoulder as far as I can tell, which is a great pity.

You might want to try puppeteer which is available in-world. I'm not sure how well it will work animating your wings but you might want to take a look at it. There is a personal version which is free and a commercial version as well.

Thank you, I think I have a copy of the free version somewhere in the bowels of my inventory, I'll see how it fares in laggish situations.
