I might've missed one or two programs in the sticky thread on animator programs, but I haven't seen any that'd work on Linux, and Avimator as well as Qavimator don't seems to be exactly avaliable for me.

Unfortunately I'm on Ubuntu, and it seem to have a thing against compiling programs, so wee bit help is appepricated!

Avimator works fine for me on kubuntu, there is a linux version and you don't have to compile it.. I can get Qavimator to run with wine but the window is not stable. I also "found" a working copy of Poser6 and that installs and runs with wine also and good too. But it's not fun to use.

I did checked out the Avimator site few times, their Linux download link seem to be broken so... that's a bit of a problem. And I'd rather avoid using Wine, but if nothing better can be found, I'll give it a shot.

yep. I went back and had a look and you are correct, the linux link don't work.
I tried the qavimator version ( must be same as yours) and it won't compile for me either, can't get qmake.
Private message me and I will email it to you. Its not the qavimator version but the previous one.

Dunno if it's stable, but I built a qavimator on Gentoo back in April; it's About dialog saith:
"$id: qavimator.cpp 181 2007-4-20 11:28:40Z zi_ree $". It hasn't crashed any of the few times I played briefly with it (native, not in wine).

Also have something from like a year ago called AvMotion that seems to run native, in case that's relevant and still extant somewhere.
