Well, I decided to make a 'for fun' dance or something but I'm terribly lost. I get the jist of it all, but for some reason I'm stuck re-doing practically every frame when I move a major limb (arm, leg, etc)
Is there a reason for this?
For example, say Frame 5 is standing straight up, and then I make Frame 6 with the knee bent. Frame 6 doesn't change, but when looking back through Frame 2-5, the legs are altered. The hands, too, even if Frame 6's hands never changed from Frame 5.
I had a pretty cool dance till I looked back through the frames and everything got garbeled up.
Any ideas?.. Tonight is just not my lucky night. Pardon if I've missed this answer someplace.

If I read you right, you're stumbling over the fact that Qavimator - and any other animation program - interpolates the transitional movement between your key frames. That's what it's supposed to do, otherwise you would have to define every single frame for every joint. Instead, you only define certain key frames and let the program do the rest. In your example, when you've defined frame #2 and frame #6 (#1 needs to remain unchanged, see the tutorials), the program takes care of frames #3-5. If you don't want this to happen, but want #2-#5 to be static and then an abrupt change in #6, you need to copy the key frame from #2 to #5 and then make your change in #6.

All I want is, #3 to have straight legs, and #4 to have a bent knee.
In order to do this, I need to copy frames?

The point is, if you want an abrupt change like that from one frame to the next, both frames need to be key frames. You don't need to copy anything if you define #3 first and then #4. But in your case, if you've already defined #4 and then notices that #3 has been changed (because Qavimator is interpolating a smooth transition between your key frames), then the way to fix that is to copy the earlier key frame to #3.
