Nevermind.
Having to repeat myself SO many times in this tiny little thread has removed all of my care to see these expressions. If you people don't want me to see them enough to not even answer my question, then they must not be worth my time.

If you create a gesture you can choose a facial animation from the dropdown list. I'm not sure if all the gesture face animations match all the upload face animations. I guess they should.

Choosing a facial animation on upload doesn't work well. The facial expressions in SL only last for a couple seconds when triggered, so what you want is the script in your poseball to keep triggering the facial expression over and over.

But how do we see them without blowing 10L per animation just to preview?

er, my point was that you shouldn't be uploading for facial expressions. Facial expressions are best triggered in script. There are lots of facial animation HUDs available, some of them free.

I get that.
My original question was on VIEWING them, not about upload. Again, how do we SEE the expressions? Clearly I'm not blowing 10L per expression just to get the expression. Therefore I must be inquiring about using expressions WITH an uploaded pose. |

You might want to install the Preview Grid Viewer. The url for the download page is secondlife.com/downloads . The Preview Grid Viewer links are down a bit on the right..
The Preview Grid viewer connects to a separate grid from the main grid, and the Linden dollar transactions there don't have any effect on your main grid Linden balance. _____________________

Snapping at people who are trying to help a total stranger, unpaid, and with very little hope of any reward for their efforts, doesn't make sense.

wow, great attitude.
Ignoring for a second the fact that I told you TWICE how to see facial expressions, you went from asking for help to pissed in under a day. _____________________

A more precise answer would be to find Yadni's emoter hud at Yadni's junkyard. It's basically a hud that has several buttons that each play a specific facial expression. It plays the expressions listed here:
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Internal_Animations The ones described as facial animations. Now the tricky part. The hud doesn't actually say which facial animation corresponds with which button. You can sort of guess which is which. You CAN edit each button on the Yadni Hud and inside the script it shows which animation is being played. It gets even trickier. On the upload animation window the dropdown lists the facial expressions but they don't seem to match exactly those listed in the wiki. For example 'Aaah' is in the upload options but it's not clear which internal animation it is. 'Plllpt' is another one. I'm guessing it's 'tongue out'. So get Yadni's emoter hud and you'll see all the available facial expressions. There's another version at Panjen too which I like. |

I'm not sure what the OP was asking for, but maybe she's taking snapshots of herself? So you can download the pictures to your computer instead of taking a snapshot, and view them. That is free. You can also crop and postprosess them when you have them on your harddisk.
Agreed that it's hard to explain what you want when you aren't familar with the right terms, but some patience can help. English isn't my first language and I try really hard to explain, but I get replys that isn't what I asked for all the time. I try to ask again with different words. Getting angry won't help at all. Facial expressions don't last long, just a few seconds as John mention. A cheap HUD I bought in SLEX let the expression stay put until I change it. Very helpful when taking pictures. http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=468404 Not sure if this is helpful or just a sidetrack. ![]() _____________________
