My fault I'm afraid. It seems to be dynamically linked against qt - so if you don't have that installed it won't run. I'll rebuilt it statically and upload a new one.
Sorry.

I had already installed qt. I mean, every Mac should have qt in default. I beleive dynamic linking makes sense becaue you don't know where every user places qavimator on his Mac. Am I misreading it? Aha I tried placing it under application folder where qt was also installed. hmm... anyway I'll give it a try when it is available. And off topic, one thing. When I dearchived qavimator-0.0.1.dmg, the maked folder was named as "q uavimator". Just reporting.

qavimator uses Qt version 3.3 ... I don't know which version of Qt comes with new Macs, but if they ship with Qt 4 it will not work. Let us know if you can get it to run with the static binary.

Qt 3.3!? I'm sorry, if the counting method might be different from the way of users', but I believe the current version of Quick Time Player is 7.1.2. Even the windows one is 7.0.3.

Seagel, the Qt that Zi is referring to is not Quick Time. It's a different GUI library by the same name that's made by trolltech ( http://trolltech.com). You would have it install the runtime library separately since it doesn't come with OS X.

Oh, Vince, thank you for informing me that. I noticed in it slightly. I've realized that I have to give up trying it. Aha, then, static version?

Hehe, I'm sorry, I didn't think about QT (Quicktime). But that's why we spell QT and Qt differently The statically linked version is now online.

Yay! It works. Thank you so much. I'll report it after playing much more but is it the feature that I can't move its limbs by draging the cursor with holding alt, shift or cmd key? The sliders works fine though. It is not the joint limit issue because I tried turning it on and off. And also I couldn't rotate the world (camera). All the control of mouse cursor seem not to work.

Yes, this has been reported to me. I'm looking into it to get a fix done, but I don't own a Mac myself - makes testing harder. We will mention the bug on the web page and try to fix it as soon as possible.
Thanks for reporting!

From: Seagel Neville And off topic, one thing. When I dearchived qavimator-0.0.1.dmg, the maked folder was named as "q uavimator". Just reporting. The next one should be correct. It's very difficult for my fingers to type a 'q' without following it with a 'u'

QAvimator now has attachments
08-01-2006 02:44
Just a little announcement: the svn version of qavimator can now attach props to body parts. So if you want to do a swordplay animation, a coffee cup or something else, you now have the chance to do it.

Update for the Mac OSX users: the camera rotation should now work as expected, as well as click-dragging body parts. Please report all bugs you might find here or on our sourceforge bug tracker.

08-09-2006 14:32
I seem to be having a similar issue for windows. The program worked the first time i opened it, but after that it just stopped working. I recieve no helpful error message, just "qavimator has encountered a problem and needs to close". What is wrong?
EDIT: This just in, I also just discovered the animation i made during the one time it worked has dissappeared too, i MIGHT have forgotten to save it, but im 98% certain i saved it.... please help!

We have a first complete setup of qavimator online on http://qavimator.org/ now. Please install this version and see if it fixes your crash. If not, make sure, the "data" folder is in the same folder where the executable lies.

Yes, my mistake. Rename the file to ".zip" and unpack it before installing. I corrected the link on the web page now.
