Im using poser and Im trying to make my avatr move backwards and forwards from one place to another eg walking forward but ive noticed that if I move the hips forward or backward the position of the avatr moves to that position in every frame which I dont want. How do I do this?

Note that whether or not you actually want to move the figure around in the animation depends on exactly what the movement is. "Walking forward" sounds like you want a walk cycle to override the default walk, in which case you do not want to move the figure around; the forward movement of the avatar is separate from the animation. The position of the avatar is moved around by SL, not by the animation, so a walk cycle should look like the person is walking in place on a treadmill.
However, for all I know you have some other purpose in mind, in which it is appropriate to move the figure around in the animation.
