Apologies for being away from the animation forum. Much has happened in the last few months! The Neualtenburg Projekt has been approved and construction on the medieval Bavarian city with postmodern architectural touches has begun. Now that city planning is done, I've been able to return to making animations in preparation for the Neualtenburg kick-off party and Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday 17 October at 6 pm PST. Kendra Bancroft and I have created several unique, scripted and animated objects. - For those who enjoy breaking into the chicken dance to the sound of Rosamunde, we have the Neualtenburg Chicken Hat. The hat contains over 30 seconds of music and synchronized animations delivered either by touch, voice, or random. It's a must see and is destined to become an SL classic.
- For those who aren't satisfied with walking around with the default SL-animated soda can, we've created a line of animated beer steins, textured by Kendra Bancroft and animated by Ulrika Zugzwang. Each stein contains a dozen animations and sounds which are assembled randomly for over 60 unique sequences.
To see pictures of the chicken hat and stein and to find details on other animations, take a look at my new Oktober Online Catalog. Do check it out. It's a feast for the eyes and much more enjoyable then reading text in a forum. Finally, in an effort to make my animations more accessible to those who are just joining the game, I'm slashing my prices. Now every animation and object is L$100 or less! Some items have been reduced in cost by more than half. Which brings me to my question for this forum. I have noticed that scripted items which are priced in the range of L$250 sell quite infrequently but those priced around L$100 sell frequently. What is the price point that you feel maximizes revenue? I hear that Moopf Murphy sells most of his wares for L$50. What do you think about that price point? I'd like to hear from not only those who sell products but also those who buy products. ~Ulrika~

I was so focused on making sure I added the "p" in "Moopf" that I misspelled your last name. I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving SL, although I understand it's necessary. I recently took a long break from the forums and it I did wonders for my RL disposition. If you would like someone to sell your wares in your place, I would happy to provide the infrastructure and pass the earnings on to you, another avatar, or the charity of your choice. We've recently built a new vendor in Neualtenburg which can direct payments to multiple individuals by percent and also record all transactions to a central server to track sales. I found many of your products very useful and feel it would be sad to no longer have them available. ~Ulrika~

I'm just not going to pay heaps of money every month for a system that is so bug ridden and unstable that it makes developing akin to banging your head against a brick wall (mind you there's no guarantee that the brick wall won't move as you try to bang your head against it, or change from brick to grass, or change shape and size - you get my drift, or just go *poof* and vanish). As soon as LL sort things out, I'll be back. Thanks for the offer, but I'm OK.
