I've looked through the FAQs and am not seeing anything relating to this...
I use Poser IRL and just now started using it for SL, so I've never really used BVH files before.
When I export and save my file as a BVH, and try to upload it, SL says "Failed to initialize motion."
Nothing I do fixes this - I can open the bvh file in Qavimator, and even resaving it through that program does not work. Any files I create in only Qav upload just fine - but I far prefer Poser, both for familiarity and ease of use.
Some other facts:
1. I am using the SL avatar files. 2. I do have the Tpose bvh as my start each time 3. I have SR pack for Poser 7 4. I tell it to scale automatically when I export.
Any ideas?

1. Make sure you have the SRs installed. You said you have so that should be good.
2. limit animation to 30 seconds or less.
3. Limit to 30 FPS or less.
4. Use the SL avatars.
Those are the only things I know of that might be causing your problems, I'm sure there are others who will fill in the blanks.

well
i'm also using Poser 7 to create animations for SL.
I can easily import my animations into SL and i have no problem with them.
the easiest solution for you i think is that, contact me in world and i will send you one of my poser files to you via email. so that you can find out, what is going wrong.
usually qavimator has problem opening bvh files exported by poser but SL client opens them with no problem.
I am using the latest version of "hippo opensim viewer"
