Yes, Cristiano, I'm looking at you, a little birdie told me you know how to do this. I have whordes of animations, many of them I've bought are no transfer. I'd love to be able to link them to words. I don't think I can attach looped ones, I'd have no way of stopping it am I right? But for the animations that run then stop... is this possible?
tks.

This may or may not be what you're looking for, but I find I can just make a new gesture, open it, delete the default settings and add an anim or a sound, then choose which anim/sound from the drop down menu at the bottom of the display. Then I just assign the trigger word. I haven't done a looped anim yet as I too fear not being able to stop it.

you can stop an animatin with a gesture, that's one of the commands you can choose. might have to have one gesture to start it and one to stop it though. that's all i got to add.

Yes, this is what I do, I make one gesture to start an animation, like /dance1 and then another to stop it like /stop1 There might be a better way, but I find this easier than wearing objects and trying to attach/detach for different dances, etc.

tks. Funnily enough my friends and I were discussing this earlier, and he tested that looped theory, and well let's say he didnt stop for some time, so we believe that you cannot actually do that with looped anims, unless you activate/unactivate them when you want to stop and start, which is is a shame, cos most of the really good ones are looped. :

tks. LOL I just happened upon this thread and noticed it was directed to me. I am afraid I have bad news for you - all of the gestures I have made for people were upon request because I have the copyable versions of my animations. In a patch of version 1.4, LL crippled the gesture feature signficantly by making it not work with no copy/no transfer animations. While I understand the reasoning, it is still annoying. Hopefully they will get around to putting this functionality back in, until then, there is not much you can do except ask the animation vendor to make you a gesture. I am working on a special machine for my shop now to help automate this a bit. If you would like gestures for my animations, I will be glad to work with you on it. BTW, as far as looping animations, you are right, it is a pain. It requires two gestures - one to start and one to stop. I hope LL eventually adds a way to stop looping animations with a shortcut key or just a generic stop animation gesture. Sorry that I don't have better news.

Someone in the script forum made an script for an attachment allowing you to "stop running animations", I believe. Use that, adjust the code so that it listens to a channel like 331, and has the basic command like '/331 stopanim' or such,. Then set up your gesture: Playanim: Loopedanim Sound: Yoursound.wav Wait: 2.0 seconds Chat: /331 stopanim Ta-daa! if that stop animation thing can be voice triggered, that's how I'd do it.

From: Ingrid Ingersoll tks Psyra! I hashed this together at work, so I can't guarantee it works, but a real coder can probably point out how to fix it if I am wrong. Strife Onizuka's "Stop all Running Animations" 1.4 script, modified to use the voice command I used in my message above. I think. // Stop All Running Animations by Channeled Voice Command // By Psyra Extraordinaire // Based on 'Stop all running animations' script // Originally Coded by Strife Onizuka // Public Domain // NOTE: UNTESTED! Use at Own Risk! Use "/331 stopanim" to activate
default { state_entry() { llListen(331, "", "", ""); }
on_rez(integer param) { llResetScript(); }
listen(integer channel, string name, key id, string msg) { if (id == llGetOwner() && msg == "stopanim") { llWhisper(0, "Stopping running animation."); llRequestPermissions(llDetectedKey(0),PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION); } }
run_time_permissions(integer a) { if (a & PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION) { string null=(string)NULL_KEY; list a=llGetAnimationList(llGetPermissionsKey()); integer b; for (b;b<llGetListLength(a);b++) //sometimes it gives you a null key, it's a bug and very annoying. remove if statement when fixed. if (llList2String(a,b)!=null) llStopAnimation(llList2String(a,b)); } } }
Be sure to fix the 'PERMISSION_T RIGGER_ANIMATION' if it has that space in it. I don't know why it always puts those spaces in there when I paste code, they don't show up in the editor...
