Is there a way to combine two or more existing anim files into one?

For example combining the "Wave" anim with the "Point" anim and so on.

hmm.... you mean.... One animation shows that holding up your arms at the angle of 90 degrees to the ground and another does 0 degree... then it should end up showing it at the angle of 45 degrees as a result of combining them? I don't think it is possible.

Gestures can be "linked" but so far, not animations. Tao and Zal Zaius have asked for that to happen, but so far, nothing from LL as to when or if it's coming anytime soon.

Sorry for my poor understanding English, but what does "combine" mean? If it just means "concatenating", as milady says, you can concatenate two animations by gesture. And at least Poser can do that easily, just importing bvh after the animatiion. But Avimator still can't do that, unfortunately.

animation mixing

I know that in highend animation progs (XSI, for example) I can take two animations and combine them on separate tracks on the timeline... so that if I have anim A where the avatar is running, and anim B where it's jumping, when I combine them, it'll be running and periodically jumping. The key idea for me is that the animations can exist on separate tracks, kind of like combining a video compositing platform with 3d animations... and the idea of "transparence" let's you ajust the effect of each track on the final animation.

This would be cool to have in SL... kindof like dj'ing anims, fading in and out, and improvising effects of make avatar movement and gesture smoother and more natural.
