I just made two bowing animations since i couldn't find them anywhere. I want to sell them but I am not sure which permissions are best for animations. Any help here would be appreciated.

A lot of people sell stuff trans/no-copy. I hear a lot on the forums about people wanting copy/no-trans and that does make sense to me, but I very rarely get customers contacting me wanting copy versions of trans animations, and regularly get contacted by people who want to buy a copy animation for someone else.
Ultimately, either way makes sense for a seller. Just don't sell them full-perms, or you will regret it. Either transfer or copy, not both. _____________________

And I'm the exact opposite.. I sell most of mine copy/no transfer. On occasion I get requests for gifts to be sent but in 2 years haven't been asked for the permissions to change to no copy/transfer. Daily I get customers who've either lost their AO or the items dissapeared from inventory. With c/nt I don't even have to think about replacing it.
When I had a smaller inventory I used 2 different vendors - 1 for c/nt and 1 for nc/t. I ended up taking down the nc/t version after a while due to no one actually using it. That would be my suggestion when first starting out. This will give your customers the choice and you'll be able to gage which works better for you. _____________________

Doesn't it also matter what type of item it is? If it's a dance ball for example, if it's c/nt , there's nothing to stop a club owner from dropping ten of them in their club. Or a realtor can drop one in every apartment they rent out, thus adding value to their rentals but no profit to you. But if it's an animation to be used in a persons AO (sexy walk, a bow, etc) , then c/nt makes sense.
I'd suggest evaluating the use of the item. If it's something that a person could use multiple copies of simultaneously, I'd go t/nc . |
