Poses that "float"?

Is anyone having trouble with "floating" animations? When I pose an avi in a kneeling position in either Poser or Avimator, the avi ends up floating a foot off the ground or more in SL. I can fix it by moving the character far underground, but in one case I had to move the person 3 meters down to move it .5 meter down in SL. Does kneeling throw off SL's import algorithm somehow? Is this possibly a new bu...feature?

Hiya Ricky!

Nah.. this bug has been around since forever. The hip to floor ratio is based on how tall you are. SL takes the information of hip position as an exact number. Say if your avie is 1 meter taller then your poser model then the sit will be 1 meter off the ground. Same goes for if I gave you one of my poses that drops me to the ground it would make you float because the distance my hips have to move to get to the ground is less then yours.

Raise the height of your poser model, like you did with lengthing your arms, and it should work for you. Saddly it won't work for everyone.

Hmm, thanks, Luth. What's odd is that to compensate, I have to move my avi far more than the one foot he floats off the ground. I have to move 3 or 4 feet down for every foot of floating. Is that part of the bug too?

Ricky, although I've not experienced it, I've herad someone must have done so for a long time. I'm intrested in it.
Question, does that happen on the specific bvh file?
