I was using both progs for a while and kept encountering a common problem..when I imported the bvh file into SL I found the only thing moving was the AV's head, the rest of the body remained fixed. As a result of this problem I gave up out of pure frustration. Not wanting to be beaten by a computer prog I decided recently to return and try and crack this problem but I've tried pretty much everything from varying aspects of the animation (frame speed, start position...) to removing the progs and downloading fresh versions; all sadly with no effect.

Am I missing something obvious..I'd really like to get into animation production but this is just doing my head in. If the worst comes to the worst are there any good animation progs out there that do actually work preferably without costing a fortune..?

This problem occurs on both my computers (PC and Mac) so I don't believe it's my hardware.

Thanks..Perre :)

DON'T touch Frame ONE

IN Frame TWO, move every join at least by an increment of ONE

Then do your animation work beginning in Frame TWO.

You only need to create a "key frame" every XX number of frames ... SL will 'fill in the blanks" in between.

Do what Bigjack said and also when you are uploading your animation, in the animation preview window, try setting to different priorities and verify that the animation plays there. Try changing the 'preview while..' options too. Choose standing, walking, sitting and see how that affects your animation.

Okay folks..that's given me a few things to play with..thanks. I do believe (trying to remember whether I do this or not..I think I do) I do use the first frame each time, so I'll try leaving that one alone to start with, I have been able to get perfect results occassionaly, but then next time not..so that may well be the answer.

Thanks again..Perre
