Priority 4 and sitting preview?

I've had this problem for a week (actually maybe longer). Now that I have a default animation file that I use to start all my poses, and because I was getting cocky ( :) ), I uploaded a bunch of new sit animations, all at priority 4. When I handed them off to my furniture partner, she complained that they were still typing so I thought duh, you must have forgot to set the priority. So I did them all again, and again, and again, and each time the typoing was still getting through. Well this morning I relaized that if I didn;t set the preview type to sitting before I uploaded it, then the priority wasn't getting set correctly.

Anybody else notice this and is this a known feature that I missed in the copious SL documentation or should I bug it?

Can anyone explain the priority system? I don't understand what its for. I get the gist it is used with sitting poses for some reason... but I'm clueless. :)
