i make a 3 frame pose..using default as keyframe1....then keyframes 2 & 3. Looks ok in the previews in Poser 4 and in SL before upload.....when i upload and use the pose in SL however it all goes to pot After a few seconds the arms bend at elbows......then back to the pose i made. Also the upper body moves continuously..anyway of fixing it so it doesn't move in a static pose? Sorry if this sounds pretty basic to the rest of you but this is all totally new to me, and ANY help at all would be appreciated. Many Thanks in advance

Please bare in mind that I am very new to animations myself, but for poses, I took a look at what Cristiano Midnight had to say about static poses from the SLUniverse forums. I'm sure he's probably said it somewhere around here, too, but Cristiano is damn good at animations, imo, so if he says to do it a certain way -- well that sounded reasonable enough to me. At any rate, Cristiano's instructions for creating poses can be found here: http://www.sluniverse.com/forums/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=36&MessageID=1213

ive found that any body part that you dont move will still be moved by the default SL animations. so what i do is this: any part that i havent moved, i will move it just a little. a degree or two will do the trick. example: if i move the arms and legs in a pose i make. i need to go in and move all the parts of the torso, neck and head to keep them from moving on thier own. again just a degree or two will be enough and wont be noticible.

You have a Key Frame issue

To solve it quickly simply use the 'break' command on all your key frames. (thats the box that puts a diagonal line through the key frame). That will fix your problem. Oh and make it 30 frames... never used less.. maybe thats an issue. Set it on loop and it will go swmimingly!

From: someone Oh and make it 30 frames... never used less.. maybe thats an issue. it's not. static poses don't need more than 2 frames. not a big deal if you use more you just don't need more than 2.

well......there's a certain amount of movement you just can't get rid of. like the av "breathing" motion and the upper body kinda floating around slightly. all you can do is gripe to the Lindens to give us some way to really really freeze. it's been asked for since before i joined. don't worry tho it's nothing you're doing wrong.
