I've built a chair and have tried various sit animations I've made in Qavimator; however, when I have my avi sit, the pose struck is not always the one in the Contents tab. Standing and re-sitting seems to cycle through the ones I'd tried previously but had deleted. Finally, after doing this a couple of times the correct pose is assumed. I've checked each part of the chair (Contents Tab) and there are no poses anywhere else.
Is this like the bling script that, although deleted, keeps on blinging?

I'm just taking a guess....but have you tried resetting the script? I often have to do that to have the new animation work correctly.

If you are wearing an animation override, you need to disable the sit overrides. If you are using a Zhao AO, there is a button in the menu to turn the sit overrides off. Leaving it on will interfere with sit poses, even if you don't have any sit animations stored in your AO.

Animations don't work like bling. If the animation is removed from the prim then it shouldn't animate. I've only seen that kind of problem once and it was when I was having high lag or maybe there were database problems. Kind of like when prims resize on their own or deleted objects hop out of the recycle bin in your inventory. You should have a script inside that prim as well so you may want to reset that.
