Daz3d (a very useful tool for animations once you get the correct plugin) has released Victoria 4.0. The base model is free. (so is V3, Michael3 and others) DazStudio is free. You can do a lot with just the freebie stuff on Daz3d. The theory behind DazStudio is that they give you all the basic stuff for free in the hopes that you will buy better clothing,skin,props... hmm... reminds me of some place.
 Not exclusively for making animations, Daz3d is also very useful for making textures and pictures for use in SL. Many of my products use pictures created with Daz3d. Even if you like having a virtual woman at your command Daz3d is for you.  Check out my Sl Exchange products for examples. I dont see it free

I see the victoria 4 base is on sale, for 21 bucks....but i dont see it for free. Sale ends at the end of the month. If you click on the free prducts tab, yes it will show victoria 4 there, but when you keep following it it takes you to http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=4783
