Forgive me if I appear (on the face of it) to undervalue some peoples excellent work (I'm not at all) But it does seem that in particular slow dances (some of which appear to have been around since the year dot) are so incredibly expensive. I'd like a couples dance ball (have been pointed to the "Intan" system, but unlike a cheap diso dance ball, which you can get from any price from free upwards, the slow dances appear to be like 800+ per dance. and some of those are just a short loop Would welcome any directions to be pointed towars something to go look at "in World"

The Bits & Bobs slow dances were less than half that price last time I looked.

Thanks, will take a look.
I must admit to being fed up seeing the same old "slow dance loops" priced at (bit of a guess) almost L$1000 per short loop.
Again, I didn't mean to diss any animators excellent work, but others do equally excellent work (buildings, scripts, clothing etc etc) and seem to not charge as much.

Shop around Piggie!
Animation is difficult and even very simple ones can take a long time to do - but it makes no business sense to price yourself out of the market.

Couples dances are much harder to animate, in my opinion, than romance or sex animations. I've done a lot of different animations; but I tried a couples dance once, decided it was too hard for me, and passed.
Especially since there are a lot of great couples dances.
Having recently done shopping for a club Intan dance system, I found Bits 'n Bobs and Sexy Jesse to have the best value for couples animations. Bits n' Bobs is probably the standard for couples slow dances in Second Life; they run 300L each and probably set the market for those type of dances. Sexy Jesse has some 'dirty' couples dances for 500L each. The Sexy Jesse dances were a bit high for my budget, but I really couldn't find the type of dance at the level of quality anywhere else.
I looked over a lot of couples' dance animations, and even picked up a few I liked outside of Bits n' Bobs and Sexy Jesse. But the lowest price I paid was 250L, as I recall. So I think you can expect to pay no less than 250L for a quality one. 500L would be on the very high end for something exception for which there were no other substitutes. Between Bits n' Bobs, Sexy Jesse, and a few others I found, that covered the world of what I would need, so I probably wouldn't consider any beyond 500L personally (or it would have to be something very special, like a good, smooth two minute dance or something).
P.S. The Intan is expensive, but well worth the money in the long run. There is no reason that dances designed for Intan should be more expensive than dances in poseballs. Some shops (Sexy Jesse off the top of my head) sell dances with their Intan config cards at the same prices as the poseball dances. And though it takes a bit of time, you can always pull animations out of poseballs and put them into the Intan and configure it. The Intan website even has a video on it, if you need. The only reason that a dance for Intan should cause you extra is if you just don't have the time or confidence to load it yourself and pay someone to do it for you, but I'd recommend do it yourself.

Are you certain you're not looking at copyable versions of dances? I ask because quite a few makers sell non-copy dances at about 250-300 per version, but sell copyable versions at a much higher price. 3FX is an example, the single copy is 299, the copy version is 999. The lower single 299 can be used just fine in an Intan if you get one.

Hi, and thanks for all the info. Much appreciated. Well, I had a look around and asked a few questions Looked at some vendors that were doing "fully Loaded" Intan balls from about US$40 up to US$80 ish. After I came around, got back of the ground & sat in my chair, I decided that I would rather pick my own dances but needed a base to start from. In the end I went to the Intan official store and bought the normal couples ball for about L$1800 ish, and then went to the Bits and Bobs main store and bought the complete "standard" pack of all 11 slow dances. for I think something around L$2800 ish Then had a minor brain seizure when I 1st read the instructions on how to rez each of the dance balls, drag the dances one by one out into my inventory, rename at least half of them, then collect the empty balls (now buggered!) and put the dances into the Intan ball together with the config script. Amazingly, after following the instructions to the letter it actually worked ! So, I'm up and running. I'm considering changing the default Intan ball sculptie design into something more "Normal" like a red heart or something, and having it static (as its for my home and not a dance floor) also would quite like to remove (or have the option to turn off) the giant amount of floating text above the Intan ball as I've had to move it away from the walls and down from the ceiling to stop the text showing thru in other rooms (dam SL bug/feature!) Any advice on any of the above very welcome of course Thanks.

This is easy to do. Just change the sculpty on the Edit menu, and possibly, change the rotations to make it look right. Then remove the TargetOmega script from inside the ball to stop the spinning. From: Piggie Paule
also would quite like to remove (or have the option to turn off) the giant amount of floating text above the Intan ball as I've had to move it away from the walls and down from the ceiling to stop the text showing thru in other rooms (dam SL bug/feature!)
Edit the Titler card inside the ball and comment out the first 4 lines using a # sign. That will get rid of the floating text. I would also like to recommend 3fx for dances. They are extremely popular right now, and at only 299 Lindens each, quite reasonably priced. You, or anyone for that matter, can contact me in-world for advice on the Intan Couple Dance Ball. I have loaded over 200 of them, so I have quite a bit of experience. I also monitor the Intan Eksotics group chat (when it works.)
