I really tried hard, believe me i did... I just suck at animations, the result looked like a 300 pound weight lifter drinking wine from a bucket. I would be very grateful if somebody could make me a elegant wine sipping animation. Of course you effort wouldn't be unrewarded! Please IM me in game to discuss terms of payment.

Are you planning on distributing this anim, or is it a one-off custom for you? Changes in limb and torso length across various avatar shapes make deft movements like this pretty difficult. S'why nobody shakes hands in SL, we just bow or wave.

Yes, it's gonna be distributed... Wow, I wasn't aware of the implications of different avatar heights. If it just had to work on avatar with "average" proportions would that make it easier?

Yes, Oclee, I think you're right. The obvious tradeoff is using a standardized size for convenience versus serving a wider demographic of SL avs.

It's also why hug attachments work so much better than kiss attachments... resting your head on a taller partners chest while hugging is fine but looks ridiculous for kissing.

The Builder's Cafe (look it up in find) has a free coffee machine; the cups of coffee it makes look to have a pretty good drinking animation. I haven't investigated closely (I was there to chat and build, not study my coffee in detail!) but it might be good enough for the original poster's needs.

(If the coffee machine is gone IM me and I'll send you a cup... from memory it hase copy/trans permissions.)
