Was just informed by my virus scanner that the trojan Zlob.DJW is present in the avimator downloaded file Avimator-0.4.1.exe
My virus scanner just updated itself about 15 mins ago, I can only guess this is one of it's new definitions.
Heads up.. now I gotta clean it out :/.

It's likely to be a false positive. Have you considered compiling from source, if you can?

From: Aliasi Stonebender It's likely to be a false positive. Have you considered compiling from source, if you can? Nay, I'm not going to spend that amount of mental resources on it. Since the free poser 5 was offered, I've gotten that to replace my creaky old ver. 4 (which has become lost in a mountain of disks.. the reason I thought to check out avimator in the first place), and I'm done with it . Thanks for the idea though, if circumstances were different it would have been quite useful, and others may find it so.

I got Poser5 few months back (grrrr I actually paid for it.) I still use avimator more often. Yeah its missing few features but for most part I find it easier to use when making SL animations. So for many its still usefull

I used the Nullsoft Installer (NSIS) to create the setup program for Avimator. Unfortunately, AVG Anti-Virus and Avast identify a lot of NSIS-based applications as trojans. This is due to poor detection on the part of both of these products. I can assure you that Avimator is not going to erase your hard drive or steal all your passwords!

It was AVG that detected it btw, so that is likely the case. I just wanted to put out the heads up, as one can never be too careful nowdays. I certainly didn't mean the warning as a slight to the software at all, I just got a bit excited because I'm pretty well buttoned down over here, and almost never see alarms go off (think this is the 2nd in 2 years)... then again, for the past 5+ years other than the last couple of months I've used Linux more than Win-duhs . Can a mod edit the title to reflect that it is a false positive please? I tried but it just added another title connected to the first post ><. Thanks!

Second on it most likely being a false positive. The easiest thing to do would be to take its md5sum and submit it to a few virus databases (aka. Google) and see what comes up. These things aren't perfect. At one point, a few of my scanners were detecting the Second Life update as a virus. That was fun.

Resmods can't edit a thread directly but it's possible to rename a thread when moving it, so I did a little juggling and got it done that way. I won't do it for just any thread but I didn't want to leave it as it was and risk a lot of people freaking out for no reason. Glad it's a false alarm!
