I'm making poses. It's entirely possible that my problem is the method I'm using. I'll explain the problem, then the method - if I'm doing it wrong, please let me know! I'm making stances - classic things like folded arms, or the left hand across the body holding the right arm which is hanging loose. The problem is that while the avatar goes into the stance neatly, after a few seconds SL changes it a bit. The outer arm in the folded arm moves further out so it's hanging in mid-air, (but still bent like a folded arm). Or the right arm that's supposed to be hanging loose rises into a bent position. The technique I'm using is Blender, with Jacek Antonelli's animation exporter*. Frame 0 is left in T-frame pose (it's stuck there, you can't get into frame 0 to change it), and I'm making the poses in frame 1. What am I doing wrong? Or does SL just do that, and I'm stuck with it? * exporter and tutorial at http://jacek.meratalk.com/sl-animation-for-blender-newbs/

You must move every joint at least a little bit or SL assumes you don't care about it and will allow the default animations to take over for that joint.
I recommend that you move every joint one degree in one direction (not all 3 directions, but at least one.) Then if you want your avatar to be perfectly still, load it at Priority 4.
I also recommend that you read the FAQS at the top of this forum. It explains a lot of this.

More than likely it is just the collar bone you just have to move a little bit. for the folding arm problem. The collar bone is one of the most commonly missed joints that is not adjust in an animation.

Thank you both! I appreciate it.
I was about to say that SL is moving joints I'd changed .. but I suppose a twist of the collar bone might move the arms that it's moving. Odd. I'll try it.
