I enjoy smoking in Second Life, but I do not much care for the available animation.
What's wrong with it?
It's too fast: no chance even for any kind of a puff, let alone a drag! There is no dwell: The cig never stops moving near the mouth! It's way masculine: No women smokes that way! It's goofy: What's with the bend at the hip with the left arm out? There's no variation: No holding, no dangeling, no nothing!
Granted, the stock animation may have been the state of the art in 2003, but what little i've seen of the SL BDSM scene, there is a LOT more that could be done with some talent and time.
Does anyone know of any better animations? Would anyone like to work on modifing or improving the stock animation or developing an entirely new one? IM me inworld or leave your comments here...
Thanks!

^ these are great observations. I enjoyed reading them, and I'm fascinated in seeing if there are any better smoking anims too. Out of sheer curiosity.

I've got a smoking animation in my shop under 'Daily anims'... but it's a bit more pot-like than cigarette like. Of course, I don't smoke cigarettes, so I don't exactly know what the difference would be.
If you check it out and like it, but would want it modified, just ask.

Hi Kiari- Thanks, I'll take a look! (I also had the chance to meet the delightful Sable Sunset last night and purchase one of her cigs. I need to try it out and see how well it works.) (I've been smoking some of Foxy's marvelous creations and it's only because his are so well thought-out and controllable that I even noticed the basic animation was wonky. Thanks Foxy!) Jenni
