Why did my QAvimator stop working?

I was just playing around with it, and found a pose that I liked, but was unable to save it no matter what I tried. Someone told me me to uninstall and reinstall it to see if that would help so I did and now the entire program won't even open. Does any have any suggestions? I was just starting to have some fun with it. Please help?

You probably can save, but when you do change the file name from "untitled.avm" to "yourname.bvh" .

Try removing the qavimator settings:

Press WIN+R, type "regedit", then search for "qavimator" and delete the registry key. This might help.

It works! I've been so busy with other stuff but I just tried it and both of your suggestions - worked!! yay :)

Just in case anyone else is having this problem, I do have to clear the registry key each time I open QAvimator but so what? I love it!

This is indeed a strange problem you're having. Can you please post your system data (Operating System, processor speed, memory, graphics card)? And please try different settings in the "Options" menu.

I hope we can fix this problem for you :)

Zi Ree - What are the new features in the latest QAvimator? Just curious before I download and install.

The most interesting new feature would be Ease In / Ease Out out per key, you can now insert free space in the timeline by using the "Insert" key (per track or full anim), the "Del" key now deletes the current key or all keys of that frame, and last but not least I implemented a simple BVH optimizer that tries to reduce the number of keyframes, cleaning up a BVH file as good as possible.

How do we insert time/or frames into the animation? I tried pressing the insert and delete keys on my keyboard and they don't seem to do anything. Maybe I read that wrong.

And can I ask to get that feature in avimator where the body parts turn green when moved? That would help me keep track of things.

I've been having some fun with this, but one of my favorite RL poses turned out to like like this in SL. Yikes!

Click on "Options / Show Timeline" then navigate to where you want to insert frames. Click on the track you want to insert into, or click on the free space between tracks if you want to insert frames into all tracks. Then push the "Insert" key on your keyboard.

The delete key just removes keyframes for now, it does not move the other keys back.

I don't think there was a feature like that in avimator. But the timeline editor should give you a good overview of what's going on in your animation.

Jujudoll, I'm not able to reproduce your specific problem :/ I'm looking into it, though.

About your pose, please check if "Joint Limits" in the Options menu is checked and try moving the left collarbone again a bit. Also, look in the animation upload preview in SL before uploading, if it also shows as being warped. You can also send me the .avm or .bvh file so I can have a look at it.

Good luck and have fun with QAvimator!
