Frame rates and imports

Is the imported animation frame rate dictated by the frame rate set in Poser or is there a standard frame rate in SL.

I have made animations using the standard 30 fps, doing the math for duration of animation by multiplying the frame X time (or desired length). "Web-acceptable" frame rates being between 12 and 24 fps would signifacantly lengthen the anims I would hope then for a smaller bvh file size.

Can you set the frame rate in poser or not is the question. In order to use less frames for the same desired length of animation.

Also. Importing files as sits or stands... Does this affect the parent child relationships in SL? It seems the using inverse Kinematix doesnt apply when the animation is imported. The hands or feet, which should remain stationary with inverse kinematix set, move after import into SL.
So, That has me thinking that the import style selected in SL... sit, stand, etc... is holding to the origin of the hips or feet or whatever. Can someone break that down for me? Or perhaps no one has actually looked into it?

Just did a little test with poser set to 1 frame a second and then uploaded it. Looks like SL converts it over as the movments animated between each frame smoothly instead of 1 frame a second, so no saving bandwidth there.

You can change it in the Edit Keyframes window.

Most of the SL animations are around priority 2 from what I can gather. Starting an animation with a higher priority will take over the movements from a lower one, however if you dont have any type of movement change for something like the neck in your priority 4 animation then the priority 2 will continue to make neck movement changes. If your having a problem with your arms still being affected by another animation, just make a 1 degree difference in rotation change on frame 2. This will allow your custom anim to take over and your arms etc will stay still. Hope that was understandable enough for ya. =P
