HI I'm new to this world and am at the basic level - i want to have an avatar but dont know how to create or find one. Can anyone help point me to a good site with sci fi related avatars which are free and legally downloadable - imagine ones released under a creative commons license . Or how do I create my own ? sorry this is such a basic question. I'd be really grateful for any suggestions

Hi westbury, are you talking about avatar pictures for your profile here on the forums, avatars to use in 3d modeling or skin/shape/clothing combinations to use in game?

On the forum, click on "User CP" above and "Edit Avatar" under Settings & Options section. You can post a small picture there.

I would like to know how to get an avatar and a "sim" for the game. I have absolutely no experience with creating or anything. If there's someone that can give me simple instructions I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Generally, when you signed up, you should have got your avatar that you named. When you login to SL, you can see and control an avatar you got.
It is heard a nonsense question how to make or get your own avatar. All you have to do is changing its appearance so that you may like. But it is possible that you can't see anything when you login or may even unable to login. I'm afraid that it is a hardware trouble such as incompatility of playing SL with your PC. Make sure if your PC's spec is enough to play and get further information on Technical Issues forum. _____________________
