I want to learn to make animations. I know poser my best option but when looking at difference in price from 5 to 6.... is there any reasson to get 6?

Before you spend your hard-earned money on Poser just to do animations, why not try Vince Plunkett's free and open-source "Avimator" (/52/bd/91535/1.html ).

Tere, if all you are planning to do is make SL animations, then I would recommend going with Poser Artist (which is actually Poser 4). Poser 5 and 6 have a lot of extra features for making realistic looking 3D renderings (hair, cloth models etc...), but none of these are applicable to SL. If you are planning to learn advanced animation techniques or want to eventually create your own 3D character animations or artwork outside of SL, then you should consider Poser 5 or 6, but otherwise Poser 4 should work just fine. Also, as Cazzj mentioned, at the opposite end of the spectrum is Avimator. It doesn't have many features and still has a lot of bugs that need to be fixed, but it's good for making simples poses and short animations. It may be a good place to start before you move on to Poser. |
