There are many potential reasons for this - some of which I am convinced lie in the air gap between Poser and SL ;)

One suggestion I can make is to check your camera use in Poser. If you tilted it slightly then that will be reflected in the uploaded animation and it is very easy in Poser to just rotate that camera adjustment a little quite accidentally!

You could also go back to the animation in Poser and check that the figure is on the floor in every frame. Use the option to "drop to the floor" to make quite sure every frame is set the same relative to the ground.

Good luck :)

I've had a .bvh go wonky before - worked the first time I uploaded it, but a week later when I wanted different priorities on upload, it previewed sideways :) Re-exported the file without any changes and it was fine - so things do go missing between the two.

But really, moving your camera? I move the camera around my animations all the time, so I can see them from every angle. I never bother to reset it before uploading. Fairynuff, it has its own timeline and can be keyed, but it's only the body parts of the avatar that get translated to SL, surely?

Could it be to do with the angle of the hips in your animation?

Sounds to me like you forgot to put a T-Pose at frame 1...

Yes, you are absolutely right Erin - by inadvertently making the floor view on a slight slope I adjusted the Poser figure so it looked right to me, thus moving the angle of the hips! This probably says volumes about my bad eyesight and the bad posture I adopt whilst working at a keyboard - however I made a mental note to remember what I had done just in case it came in useful sometime. :)
