Hi there.
I got myself a copy of Poser Artist (a re-badged Poser 4) and am working on some simple poses to start with. I did a simple test anim some weeks ago, and that uploaded ok. However, my latest efforts aren't. I am doing, as I say, simple poses, so as per the info I have already gained from this forum, I made them 2 frames long, default stand pose for frame one, and then the actual pose for frame 2. Saved as both a poser file and a bvh. I go to upload them, but SL says it failed to initialize motion, and thus I don't get the option to upload. my first test anim will still upload ok, so what am I doing wrong with these simpler ones?
many thanks,
Mordecai Scaggs

Without seeing the actual poser files it's a little hard to say. Are you using the SL avatar? I think it should still upload fine and just ignore parts that SL doesn't handle, but perhaps the first time you used the SL avatar and this time you're using a poser figure that SL doesn't like.

Have you looked at this thread? /52/bb/36318/1.htmlI'm not an animator but it looks promising.

Salvatore you are incorrect. 2 Frames is all you need for a pose.
Just like the link says.. For a pose: 1) Set the animation length to 2 frames 2) Frame 1, standard T pose. 3) Frame 2, pose your figure as desired. 4) Export-->BVH-->Scale Automatically 5) Import into SL - check the loop box
The failed to initialize error is from using the wrong figures (use the downloadable SL figures), not scaling automatically or frame 1 not being the default.

A grateful Thank You! to all who responded to my plea for help, this really is the best place for noobs to find information on the whole gamut of SL topics.
Yes, I wasn't using an SL avatar for Frame 1. Once that had been sorted, I had no problems uploading the bvh file.
Once again, thank you very much, I would get nowhere with my anims if it weren't for residents like you!
