In Ulrikas excellent beginners tutorial, she says to use Casual Man P2 from the Poser2 Hi library. This worked fine and I made my first test animation using her example. But is it possible to use Casual Woman P2 as well as it looks strange using a man for a female animation.
Are there anymore tutorials that go beyond the first steps of Ulrikas tutorial.

I use the p2 woman myself, and only find that i have to make minor adjustments to positioning of hands, etc upon upload.

There is a Poser model forthcoming that is much closer to the standard avatar dimensions - I am not sure when it will be released but I am sure it will be fairly soon. The poser 2 female is close but there are some frustrating differences with the positioning of the arms and the way that it bends that causes some weirdness in creating poses with it.
BTW, for male poses I used to use the Casual P2 Male - you just have to compensate for the arms being a little different (for example, if you want the hands to be touching the body, you practically have to shove the hand inside the model. The new model resolves that problem pretty well, I am anxious for the final version to come out.

You can use either the male or female model. I use the P4 male and female models and adjust the forearm size back to %100 percent and it works well. For some reason the default for the forearm is like %114 and this can through off the translation perspective in SL.
If you are going to do this a lot, it's best to play with the sizing of the body until you get a modified model of you own creation that you can save as your default.
