Good Poseballs

This may be something I should post in a Scripting forum, but figured maybe fellow Posers would be able to direct me to a favorite Pose Ball. :)

I'm looking to upgrade the poseballs used in my pose sets. Ideally, I'd like to use a Poseball that will allow folks to config their position on the poseball __EASILY__. Any recommendations?

Do you mean a poseball script for a single poseball or a poseball rezzing system like the one found in beds?

Just single poseballs. I have one now...but like I said, I'm looking for one that would allow users to customize the position of their avatar on the poseball without needing to move the actual poseball. Maybe via a Notecard?

You can usually change the offsets in the script. I will check my bag'o'tricks later to see if I have one that reads a notecard.

I don't know about others but I wouldn't like that. I can Edit Linked Parts and move the pose ball while I'm sitting on it. That is very easy to do. Updating a notecard is much more work.

Yes, you can change the offset in the script...which is the type of script I'm using now. But, I was hoping to keep the script "no mod" (if you're not sure what you're doing, you could really mess up the script) - hence the reason for wanting a Notecard config. I'm sure one exists out there, I just didn't know if anyone had a script they were partial to. :)

If you find something, def let me know!

I missed the 2nd part of your post. Thanks for the input...it helps! I'll stick with what I have now, and let folks rearrange the balls a little bit. I think that's probably the best, in the end. Everyone (should) knows how to move a prim! :D

Check with Lear Cale - his JPose script does something like that where avatars can adjust position without editing the config notecard.

With the basic, freebie poseball script (I believe 4.3.1 is the most recent version) you can set the script to no mod and have the config notecard be full perms for editing. Although, with a free script there really isn't a need to lock down the script perms.

The MLPv2 is set up to do this easily. It is set up to rez poseballs; but it has very easy options for editing position on the fly, and saving positions. And it's available for free. ($1L purchase on XStreetSL.com; or join the MLPv2 Group in Second Life and someone will probably drop off the latest version to you.)

Um ... what could possibly be easier than moving a poseball?

Other than the ones (like mine) that "take controls" and allow you to use page-up/down to move along the poseball's Z axis -- but even that I have to explain to people, because you have to hit escape 3 times to get out of any text boxes or whatever. (Same as you need to do to walk, but people do this without thinking about it.)

If you want one of mine, get jPose Sit for L$1 on XStreetSL. It should be full-perm. I think i have an update overdue, though. It now allows notecard config of various parameters; useful in poseball sets.

But really, what's simpler than moving the poseball? I don't get it!

Why *do* people take freebie scripts and make them no mod? If I buy a product and find the makers have done that, I rarely go back for more. I've heard makers whine about customers goofing up the scripts, but seriously, I don't find that at all. (No, I get bothered by people who say I created the poseballs in their [fill in the blank] and it's not working ...)

Hey, Lear? You created the poseballs in my ... *giggles* I couldn't resist.

But as a newbie animator/builder, I'd like to thank the people who have scripts available to us for use. Now if only I could figure out how to program them myself ... Which I know will take practice. :) I'm working on it.

/me also shouts out 'Thanks for the great JPose script Lear!!!'

I discovered it just the other day. I am just starting to build structures and furniture and your script has really helped me get my head around creating poseballs and playing with multiple animations.

I think the OP might find it useful, too, for easily adjusting a poseball while using it, it's great for different size avatars.
