I see many posts and tutorials on how to animate avatars.

What I'm looking for is a way or tutorial on how to animate a created prim. For example making a dog and then animating the sit script or walk script of the prim.

I've not found much that covers this type of animation. Are there any resources out there?

This is a scripting topic, try asking in that forum. Unfortunately, SL doesn't support any imported animation other than for avatars, so to move a prim around you script the motion.

Ok thanks, that's what I was afraid of.

Looks like I'm going to be spending lots of code time figuring out exactly how to have each part move rather then animating as a whole.

It would be easy if we had the option of grouping many objects (object = group of prims with a parent) being the parent prim of each obejct the moviment axis.

Maybe we should add a feature request, what you think?

A loooong time ago there used to be a joint and hinge option... I am unsure if the keystrokes still work for them (I forgot them).

Be nice if the Linked Prims had a bone option. That way you could easily script their movements based on that.
