Greetings all, I spent most of today working on a walking animation or so I thought. I followed the instructions at the url below: http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/tutorial/tutorial/-/?id=2197I rendered it to an avi to see what it looked like. It looked ok so I thought I'd try to export to bvh and upload it to SL to see how it looks. I can't seem to get SL to recognize it. To export it to bvh, I click on the avatar in daz then click on file, export. I then name it and choose the bvh option. Another window pops up and I make sure Second Life compatibility is checked then I click on Accept. It creates my bvh file but when I try to upload it to SL, SL gives me this message: Failed to initialize motion. What exactly does that mean? Did I do something wrong in daz? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. edit: I d/l and used the SL avatar and it seemed to export ok. Now my issue is that when I try to upload the animation, it always starts in that T position. How do I get rid of that T position before my animation starts? Any daz studio users out there? I'd greatly appreciated a little bit of guidance.

Hey there... I'm messing with DAZ also and discovered that even tho you select the SL compatable option, its still not totaly compatable... if you look at the bones, its located in the scene tab when you click on a part of the AV, you will see links for the fingers and toes...SL dont use fingers and toes... just the whole hand and foot.. take off the fingers and toes on both hands and save the animation again...reupload it and try it. i would recomend the test server to upload with at first so you can test the animation for real and not waist your "real" lindens. as for the starting in the T, i'm assuming that tou have the T as the start or key frame... put your av in the start position you want then set the keyframe to that... i hope that helps...

Thanks I ended up downloading the SL avatar and importing that into daz studio to work with. It works fine as long as I use the less detailed SL avatar. hehe
