Well, I just imported my first animation from Poser into SL. For the most part it works great, but there is an odd issue with the feet. Although the feet are firmly planted in Poser, in SL they're all jittery and jumping around slightly. Anyone know why this would be and/or how to fix it?

I think you might be observing the Hip bug. Did you move the hips in avimator at all. Not rotate, but move them ? if so the feet move and obviously one adjust the thighs and feet by rotating to create the illusion the feet aren't moving. It may look perfect in avimator or poser or whatever you use but the minute you import SL , for some reason, erases, deletes, destroys -whatever word you wanna use- the info for the legs in feet , but keeps the hip movement. So you get an animation that looks like your avitar is ice skating or sliding on the floor.

There's nothign you can do to get around this, just hope they patch this. They really should stick that this bug exists

This is the second time that this bug has been around. Luckily its not as bad this time. I have sent all sorts of emails reguarding this, but haven't gotton a single answer.

Drat, so this is a bug in SL. Well, maybe it has been fixed in the update they're putting out.

Hm, maybe this has something to do with the priority of the animation? Like, the normal stance is overriding the leg positions I set?

Tonight I'm going to try importing the bvh back into Poser; I forgot to check that.

ADDITION: I just discovered something while reading the animation guide -

Apparently subtle movements are optimized out when you import animations into SL. Presumably that includes the small leg movements that kept the feet rooted to the floor. doh

I dunno. i have alotta poses in my AO that have really suttle movements of the hips, and thus also the legs - otherwise id'e be sliding. Most of these were probably made before the bug. I guess well only know for sure IF the upload bug is ever fixed.

Okay i just checked the new SL version, and the bug is still there.
