I've been getting a little fustrated trying to figure out custom Avatar shapes. I've done some research, but I'm still having problems finding what I need. I notice this is a common issue, but I thought I would put it out there again.

I do not want a humanoid shape. I went to an AV customization class, and found a cute little kitty Tiny Avi. Everything was modifiable, so I took it apart and found an object called a "body cruncher", and also a weird combined prim that masked parts of the still extending visible edges of my squished up avatar form.

I seperated the two prims into the body prim, and the hiding prim.

Question 1 - what were the parameters for the hiding prim? I looked at it, and I couldn't get it figured out. It's invisible, but it also makes only avatars themselves invisible.

Putting the whole box around my body is not an option, because when people pass between the box and your viewing area... they disappear too! It looks crappy.

Question 2 - How do I make myself really really small? (so that I can build my avi around myself -- I'm a floating monster -- think D&D Beholder

Question 3 - How do I make myself levitate constantly about 5 feet off the ground? Do I do this with an animation?

Thanks for you assistance.

Look for the Tiny Evil Squirrel Av, it's a freebie tinie av (part of some of the furfree packs I believe), or some other similar av. You can use the scripting/animations from it to make a tinie. If you can get these from your kitty they should suffice, it should be an animation override script and a few animations.

And it seems you discovered what's called an 'invisiprim'. As you noticed, it hides avatars drawn behind it (as well as trees and water). Invisiprims can have interesting uses, but it's generally best to avoid them unless they are necessary since they often hide more than you want as you also noticed.

I would recommend using the tinie animations and building your beholder big enough to hide the tinie inside, no invisiprims.

As for levitation, there may be a few ways to do it.... the simplest being just flying.

I will look for the overide scripts. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yup, looks like I did discover an 'invisiprim' -- I was curious how these were created.

I am researching bounding boxes, and scripting options for making the avatar super small. I would like to know more about this, if it's possible.

Well, there are areas that no-fly zones. So, flying isn't the best option. I know that you can make animations which have you hovering above the ground several feet. I was looking at this as an option.
