Okay, so I'm just starting out on this whole animation shebang and already I'm banging my head against the nearest solid wall. I'm using Poser 5 with the Poser 2 model as suggested in the ulrikasheim.org basic tutorial guide (which incidentally I followed without problems).
However!
When I try to make a basic two second animation other than that, I set 1 as the keyframe with no movement, set 2 as a different position. Then if I set it to 30 frames and, for example, set a keyframe at 20 or so then my figure will do a MAD dance in translating from one keyframe to the other. Like every part of his body (even the ones I haven't moved) just move of their own free will before moving to the position I set in keyframe 3.
Hmm. I'm not describing this very well, but I'm rather new to the system. Any thoughts on this?

download the sl avie models here "The graph window is profoundly powerful. Poser uses a spline to create movement between keyframes. Sometimes the spline can create unwanted, exaggerated movements in the intermediate frames. The best way to fix that is to go into the graph and add extra intermediate keyframes for a body part to "tack down" the motion. (Another solution is to switch from "spline" to "linear" or "constant" in the animation palate.)" might want to read this post if that doesnt help.

Excellent. You have my upmost thanks. That post was ideal, as I've never really been into the whole animation business before. 10 points for you.

cheers.. i didnt write it tho..Ulrika types it out much better then i do some say to break the spline, which is what i normally do, but still does some crazy things sometimes so more keyframes are needed. most of us have gone through what you have..

I routinely break spline on frame 2 to avoid crazy interpolation caused by the radical shift from frame 1 to 2. Works for me.
And yes, download the SL avatars. MUCH easier to work with. The Poser figure has all this stuff that you can't animate, and that can distort your work, since you move joints on the Poser figure that don't exist on the SL figure.
