I am stuck and frustrated. I have stopped making furniture because I am tired of having to use separate poseballs for each animation I want. I am looking for something similar to MLP/MLVP...someone mentioned Xpose but could not find a script/package on Xstreet to detail this out.
I need something SIMPLE. Something I can drag my animations into and make multiple poses sit correctly on the furniture...on pose position does not fit/position all. Right now, I am only using single animations not couples....I shudder and run at the thought of doing couples.
Yes, MLP might appear to be simple to some, but I find it very cumbersome and frustrating to use. Another product I have is really simple, drop and drag, but difficulty in arranging all the different animation and the documentation sucks on setting up a config card...plus the card does not accept the sittarget helper coordinates.
Anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind purchasing if it works...people need to be compensated for their hard work...but, I do not want to have to spend a ton to go thru useless and difficult scripts to find what I need or to find out what I am asking/wanting does not exist.
Thanks!

There's a Wiki to help step you through setting up MLPV2. Most of it applies to MLP as well: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/MLPV2_TutorialNo, it's not as simple as you'd like, but it might help.

Nina--Yes, would sell some of my furniture but having to many issues finding something to use that handles multiple animations. Currently, only singles animations not couples. So far, simply using poseballs...but that adds prims. Would like it to be menu driven...but needs to be easy.
Lear--Thank you for the info. Been to the site a number of times and have even printed out the info so I could go step by step. Did this about a week ago as well and thought I had it right...but none of the animations would work after I adjusted the pose parameters and loaded them to a config card (can't call the actual name you call it). Even got a copy of the new MLVP and tried it, but still not working. Had a friend look at it and they said it looked like I had done everything properly, which obviously is incorrect since it is not working.
Every time I try to work with MLP, it makes me pull my hair out and I give up on it. Oh, BTW, out of the actual stuff that comes with the MLVP...which cards/scripts/objects do I have to use at a bare minimum? I have never been able to figure that out exactly either...maybe that would help me and seem less overwhelming?
Thanks!

i know what you want, and its not for sale. you want our funi-foo scripts! seriously, theres nothing like that that you can use without writing it. your best bet is to either use lears mlpv2 kit (free) or ask miffy about xpose licensing (cant be expensive, lots of ppl are using it). in any case you will need to configure a base pose position somewhere, even furni-foo.

Morgaine, it's possible that the animations you're trying to use aren't suitable for use with any multi-pose product. Animations used in these products MUST have hip joints "set" (that is, not defaulting). Otherwise, you will get different results depending on the order in which you choose animations when using the furniture.
It's possible that you're not doing anything wrong, but your animations aren't suitable. In this case, no script of any kind will solve the problem.

The poses I am using are standard Bits N Bobs sit and lay reading poses. I do not know how to tell if they have hip joints "set". Is there a way to tell? Also, can you tell me the minimum items from the MLVP package that has to be in a piece of furniture?

EasySit is a super easy program for installing single animations into furniture,
no need for pose balls or clumsy menus to load and navigate. Ran across it at Fermi sandbox.
1. drop your animation and a copy of the script into each prim (pillow, cushion etc,)
2. turn on the easysit probe which finds all the prims that have the script in it and a positioning box shows up where by you position your avie and thats all folks.

Also, can you tell me the minimum items from the MLVP package that has to be in a piece of furniture? What's MLVP? For the minimum, just use original MLP, and you'll need all of it. You can some remove items from the .MENUITEMS notecard if you wish, once you have it set up.

There are indeed some older Bits & Bobs animations that have the hip height messed up, which makes them unusable in MLP products. You can use them if you are ok with only being able to get to them by switching the animation while you are already "sitting" on a pose ball -- but that really is not acceptable when you are talking about furniture for sale. Now, you might be able to sweet talk Craig into going back and fixing those older animation/poses to have the hip height correct -- if you can manage that you'll have the gratitude of a whole lot of furniture makers. Beyond that, MLP is actually pretty easy to use once you understand the basics. Yes, it takes some time to get your animations adjusted, but it is worth it. Drag and drop just isn't feasible, you're going to have to adjust the poses no matter what system you use. Lear is also very good with support, which is a huge plus. Honestly, the first couple of times you do a set up it will take forever and seem like a big damn pain the ass, but once you get the hang it is worth it.

I'd also highly recommend the MLPv2...once you do get the hang of it I think you'll find it works exceptionally well. I'd suggest joining the in-world group "MLPV2". In addition to referring the the MLPv2 Wiki you can ask your questions to the group and as a whole the people in that group are VERY helpful. ~ Desi
