I've just started using the programme..seemed pretty straight forward (or so I thought). The instructions were clear and all made perfect sense. Then I came across a few little aspects the instructions had forgotten to mention and I began wondering if they were bugs in the system.

Firstly..when I click on a body part, sometimes it highlights in green and other times it highlights in red/pink..what does this mean? I noticed the green highlighted areas tend to remain green even when I'm working on another body part, and aslo remain green during animation.

Secondly..and probably the most annoying..I've spend a little while adjusting my model to it's new position..ready to hit the key button..hit the button and everything jumps back to the original position losing all my work.

Obviously I'm missing something here..I suspect the two points are related..maybe the colour of the highlight indicates a temporary adjustment or locked/final adjustment and I just haven't figured out how or why yet. I'm beginning to get to the point where it all gets so frustrating I just hit the off button and go do something else.

Another point..is it possible to lock the model on the ground. Like this example for instance; your model is bending down to pick up a package..you bend the knees and of course because the hips are locked at the start height the lower legs and feet rise of the floor. Now you have the tricky problem of lowering the whole model down to the ground hopefully bringing the feet down in exactly the right place. Get it right and your model gracefully bends down, get it wrong and your models doing some kind of comedy sand dance. Just wondered if there was some way of selecting which part of the body is locked at one height ?

Anyone out there experienced these problems and figured out a solution.?

Thanks..Perre :)

You can't lock your feet on the ground. Take a look at the menu options at the top. Not much there. The hips are the only body part that have position sliders. Moving the hips is the only way to do it. It takes some trial and error.

As for colors, red is the currently selected body part, green shows the body parts that you have moved, and pink are ones you have not moved.

I really have no idea how the key button works in avimator. I haven't really used it.

I would suggest saving a lot. Saving into multiple save files too.
