Hello all,

I am looking for an editor that will basically allow me to take an animation I have uploaded into Sl and cut it down in length. I have seen UPoser, but it doesn't appear to do this and it's really a lot for what I need it to do. I haven't seen anything else in the sticky list on editors that woudl do this.

Is there a way, since the original is no longer available, I can export the bvh out of SL again?

Thanks,

D

While I'm still new at animations, I don't think it is possible to download an animation from SL. You would have to rebuild it (I assume, because that is what I've had to do) in something like QAvimator and then reupload. That way you would at least now have copy of the anim on your hard drive.

No, there is no way to export your own animations or modify them inworld. You can download SL's default animations from the Downloads page on this web site, and modify them, with some effort.

When designing animations, the Beta Grid is your friend. You can upload animations for free (you get a few thousand $L to play with each time you log in), which saves upload fees for troubleshooting. When you are happy with it, upload it to the main grid. Just be aware that nothing uploaded to the Beta Grid is saved once you log off.

As stated there is no way to take animations from SL. As for the beta grid, things are saved when you log off actually :), it's just when they take another snapshot that things get wiped.
